I have solved computer problems professionally since 2009. In 2006 I was already making house calls to transfer MP3 libraries. I was thirteen years into the career when the generative-AI boom began. The roots were already deep.

    I signed the lease on January 15, 2015. Eighteen days later, we opened. By April I was repairing computers nearly around the clock. By July I was apologizing for the queue. In September I changed the hours so I could close the door, sit at the bench, and get people their machines back.

    The counter was only the visible part. I made house calls, taught people to use their own machines, answered urgent questions when the shop was shut, and once followed a customer's problem all the way to the Apple Store in Portland. Computers, tablets, phones, Wi-Fi. Different arrangements of electrified rock.

    People helped build the place. They came to the opening, sent their neighbors, and left more machines than I could return as quickly as I wanted. One customer later wrote that her iBook felt new again. That was the shop: local, busy, and answerable to whoever came through the door.

    In 2020 I christened the remote work Samaritan Solutions. The page kept the old photographs. I kept answering the questions.

    Dated public posts, the storefront photograph, and customer comments document the shop, the queue, its service mix, and one repair outcome. A 2017 reference separately supports customer responsibility, network work, and community scope. They do not prove the separate count of more than 1,200 unique customers.
